The CECM for Trade, Bernard Maina attended the 3rd Kenya International Investment Conference dubbed KIICO at Safari Park Hotel.
The Conference whose theme was "Unlocking Africa's Gateway" was held for a three day period and was planned and organized by the State Department of Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest). H.E. President Dr William Samoei Ruto who opened the three day conference emphasized the need to look for areas of investment and partnership with our Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
The Conference was attended by Trade Ministers and Investors from various African countries, Ambassadors and Delegates attending from Corporate entities, National Government, Non-Governmental Organizations, County Governments and Private Partners with interests in investment. Dominating the sessions of the Conference were presentations by high level individuals from Government Ministries, Private Sector and County Governments.
The keynote speakers made elaborate and detailed presentations on areas of investment in sectors and the plenary sessions engaged expert opinion in various fields.
The Nyamira County Trade Department set up a booth to showcase the various investment opportunities in the County and had potential investors registering their presence. With the upcoming Integrated Agro Industrial Park (IAIP) at Sironga, the CECM Bernard Maina pitched on the need for partnerships to support MSMEs and Cooperatives Societies in accessing affordable credit, capacity building and value addition on Agricultural produce that would minimize post- harvest losses as well as identifying market opportunities for our key products.He presented a documentary that gave an overview of what investment opportunities the County offered.
Among those who visited the Nyamira County booth were PS Abubakar Hassan , PS Susan Mang'eni, PS Veronica Nduva the, PS Dr Juma Mukhwana, PS Susan Mang'eni, Jasmin Gohl from GIZ,Flora Mutai Chairperson KEPSA,James Mureu Chairperson Micro & Small Enterprise Authority, Michael Mandu Director MITI and George Ndinda Director in the State Department of Trade.
Accompanying the CECM for Trade were; Economic Advisor to the Governor Samuel Matonda and Dr. Grace Otanga.
