Nyamira County Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo today started launching roads in all Wards in the devolved administration unit.
He kicked off the exercise in Bogichora and Bosamaro Wards of West Mugirango constituency where he launched nine of them.
The improvement of road networks will ensure economic growth through access to markets and other facilities by residents.
Under the program, 200km will be rehabilitated at a cost of Sh200million.
The works will include site clearance, grading, gravelling (murram) and drainage.
The roads launched in Bosamaro Ward were Gesero (Makutano) - Ndurumo – Riamoti (4.5km), Motagara - Omaraburi – Kipkebe (2.7km), Ikobe – Gesicha (2km) and Gesero – Sirate- (4km).

Addressing a rally at Nyamatoki market after the launch, H.E Governor Nyaribo warned area residents against encroaching road reserves, saying such action was affecting expansion of the area transport networks.
Residents should also stop dumping building materials on drainages and blocking culverts, he noted.
Those bent on vandalizing road signs and guard rails especially on bridges were equally put on notice.
The County Chief who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr James Gesami and top members of his government staff said he was determined to serve all residents equally, despite some being his political nemesis.
He said his working relationship with his Deputy was cordial, the sentiments that were echoed by his Deputy.
Earlier, Dr Gesami had dispelled rumours that he was in loggerhead with his Boss on the County leadership.
On health, he promised more supply of drugs to all health facilities in the area, saying procurement was in the process.
“Medical staff should be on duty all times to serve patients diligently” he said.
Roads ECM Mr Jones Omwenga warned that contractors who will do shoddy road works will not be paid.
