Keroka Town in Nyamira County is set to benefit from the Second Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project.
Approximately, Sh250million will be allocated for the development of a backstreet and other projects such as street lighting.
The CECM for Lands Housing and Urban development Mr Steven Oboso, on behalf of the County Governor Amos Nyaribo, received a team from the State Department of Infrastructure in charge of Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Programme to work out modalities for the project.
The project will be done by G. A consultants Ltd who will work on Keroka’s Block B infrastructural development.
Mr Oboso expressed his gratitude to the World Bank and all other team players in ensuring that Keroka's infrastructure is uplifted.
The plans of improving Keroka infrastructural status is a positive move towards upgrading the town into a municipality in future.
Those present included Engineer's and social safeguards officers from National government and GA consultant Eng Eng Elisha Ochungo, The C.O lands, Director procurement and other county officers drawn from various disciplines.
