The department of Education and Vocational Training comprises of two Directorates namely:
1) Directorate of ECDE and CCC
2) Directorate of Vocational Training and HCC

The current organizational structure of the department of Education and Vocational Training has the following offices;
1) County Executive Committee Member who heads the department, policy formulation and oversees its implementation,
2) Chief Officer who is in charge of accounts and human resource.
3) Director ECDE & CCC in charge of the directorate,
4) Director VET & HCC,
5) Deputy director Human Resource,
6) Assistant Director Human Resource and assistant director Administration ,
7) Sub- County Programme officers,
8) Quality Assurance & Standards,
9) Staffing officer.

Mandate and Roles
1) Administration and management of education programmes at ECDE & Child Care Centres and Vocational Trainings & Home Craft Centre facilities
2) Quality assurance, supervision and maintenance of Standards in ECDE Centres, Vocational Trainings and Home Craft Centres and Child Care Institutions
3) ECDE Teacher and vocational training instructor Management, development and utilization,
4) Mobilization of curriculum support materials,
5) Provision of bursaries and grants to institutions,
6) Mobilization of resources for infrastructure development,
7) Providing policy guidelines and advisory services.
8) Monitoring and evaluation of institutional projects and service delivery
